Topology, nonlocality and duality in classical electrodynamics

چکیده
We have recently (Heras et al. in Eur. Phys. J. Plus 136:847, 2021) argued that classical electrodynamics can predict nonlocal effects by showing an example of a topological and electromagnetic angular momentum. In this paper we discuss the dual momentum which is also nonlocal. then unify both momenta means arising configuration formed dyon encircling infinitely-long solenoid enclosing uniform electric magnetic fluxes show because it depends on winding number, fields act regions for these are excluded invariant under duality transformations. explicitly verify duality-invariant insensitive to radiative Li\'enard-Wiechert dyon. how symmetry suggests different physical interpretations corresponding unifies.

On Classical Teleportation and Classical Nonlocality
An interesting protocol for classical teleportation of an unknown classical state was recently suggested by Cohen, and by Gour and Meyer. In that protocol, Bob can sample from a probability distribution P that is given to Alice, even if Alice has absolutely no knowledge about P . Pursuing a similar line of thought, we suggest here a limited form of nonlocality — “classical nonlocality”. Our non...
متن کاملInconsistency in Classical Electrodynamics
I show that the standard approach to modeling phenomena involving microscopic classical electrodynamics is mathematically inconsistent. I argue that there is no conceptually unproblematic and consistent theory covering the same phenomena to which this inconsistent theory can be thought of as an approximation; and I propose a set of conditions for the acceptability of inconsistent theories. 1. I...

متن کاملQuantum-classical crossover in electrodynamics
A classical field theory is proposed for the electric current and the electromagnetic field interpolating between microscopic and macroscopic domains. It represents a generalization of the density functional for the dynamics of the current and the electromagnetic field in the quantum side of the crossover and reproduces standard classical electrodynamics on the other side. The effective action ...
